Transportation in the City is problematic. An agreed transportation contract will go before the council on 11/8/2005. The demand for transportation services outweighs the resources. There is a lack of coordination between public and private sector services. Questions arose whether the AAB should be involved with the 11/8/2005 contract? Agencies should contact Jay Banasiak to deal with contract changes. Steve Stambaugh reported on the Transportation Appeals Committee. The committee discussed having a quorum of 3 persons to hear appeals. They also discussed having a longer period between 1st and 2nd appeals. The preferred time for the hearings would be Friday afternoons. Jeff Farney reported on the Parking Committee. The committee listened to a police presentation on the parking program. Existing businesses that are not in compliance need more education. The committee agrees that 1st time offenders should get a warning and then $50 for 2nd offense, and $100 for the third. Lori Lawrence stated the Communication Committee would meet on 10/29/2005. Mr. Calvert has added Compliance to the Ordinance Review Committee. Mr. Calvert requested Committee minutes be forwarded to him and he will them distribute to the entire group. IV. New Business Mr. Calvert presented a motion to add members to the AAB, but the motion was withdrawn after board discussion. The AAB would like to ask the possible incoming members first. Mr. Hinkel added that increasing the board's members might create a difficulty in making future action. Mr. Calvert proposed that the AAB ask the City Manager to invite Grady Landrum, Director of Disability Services at WSU, to serve as a member of the AAB. Steve Hinds made the motion and Lori Lawrence seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
