Jackman House APPLICANT: Randall Rathbun FOR: 158 N Roosevelt Applicant requests loan from the Revolving Loan Fund for Historic Properties for rehabilitation of roof, front porch, and exterior stair-enclosure wall attached to house; Kansas State Income Tax Credit project. Motion #4 made by Seiwert, 2nd by Ingle to support the proposed application in the amount of $25,000 from the Revolving Loan Fund for Historic Properties. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). B. MAJOR: (HPC2008-00242) Old Mission Mausoleum APPLICANT: City of Wichita FOR: 3424 E 21st Street Applicant requests support for nomination to the Kansas Historic Places Register and the National Register of Historic Places. David Stuart was present for questions and comments. Motion #5 made by Willenberg, 2nd by Seiwert to support the nomination of the Old Mission Mausoleum to the Kansas Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). Board members wished to submit a letter of appreciation on behalf of David Stuart. C. MAJOR: (HPC2008-00243) APPLICANT: John Martin FOR: 3826 E Central Applicant requests loan from the Revolving Loan Fund for Historic Properties for purchase of new furnace. John Martin was present for questions and comments. Motion #6 made by Seiwert, 2nd by Ingle to support the proposed application in the amount of $5,000 from the Revolving Loan Fund for Historic Properties. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). ITEM NO. 9 MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS A. Update from Mike Seiwert: recent conference in Chicago on tax credits for historic properties. B. Update on Minisa Bridge: Barbara thanked those who were at the rededication ceremony reception. Mr. Speweik will be in town October 17, 2008 to review any last detail before signing off on the project. Staff is looking for a place to house the documentation and testing material and information from this project. Barbara received complaints about the light fixtures reflection at night on the bridge. The display of the glass used is currently on the 1st Floor of City Hall, however the display will return to the Planning Department. C. Broadview Hotel will be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. D. Letter from Katrina Ringler, CLG Coordinator, plans to offer training to staff on “language specific” and what law is being applied. Kathy will look at having a combined training. E. Update on 1065 N. Waco: Request to have this item put on the Agenda for next month.
