MINUTES - BOARD OF BIDS AND CONTRACTS*

The Board of Bids and Contracts met with Tim Cain, Administrative Supervisor, representing the Director of Public Works, in the Chair; Kendall Niquette, Budget Analyst, representing the Budget Office; Kelli Glassman, Management Intern, representing the City Manager; and Patsy Ellis, Deputy City Clerk, Secretary; present.
Rodney Ellenz, Controllers Office, representing the Director of Finance; absent.

Minutes of the regular meeting dated, August 24, 2004, were read and on motion approved.

Bids were opened August 27, 2004, pursuant to advertisements published on:

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION: Sewers, Paving and Water Mains as per specifications  (Exhibit Attached).

2004-2005 CDBG street, curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements - north of 31st Street South, east of Hillside (472-83904/602551)

	Cornejo & Sons Construction - $93,000.00 (Negotiated to engineer's estimate)

The Purchasing Manager recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, subject to check, same being the lowest and best bids within the Engineer's construction estimate.

FINANCE DEPARTMENT-IT/IS DIVISION: Microsoft Renewal Agreement RQ401526

	Software House International - $141,757.30*

*Utilizing the State of Kansas Contract #07359 for Software Purchases.  Purchasing utilizing Government Entities Contracts, Cooperative Contracts and Agreements/Ordinance No. 38-122 Section 2.64.020 (j).

The Purchasing Division recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, same being the lowest and best bid.
