Douglas Applicant proposes to install a sign across the south elevation of the building. This review is coming back to the HPB as per the requirements of HPC2007-00400. Motion # 2made by Seiwert, 2nd by Ingle to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried unanimously (6-0). ITEM NO. 8 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS APPLICATIONS 1. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00445) Rogers House APPLICANT: Brenda Bradshaw FOR: 1312 N. Topeka Applicant requests a revolving loan in the amount of $25,000 for roofing on house and garage, repair of dormers, soffits, fascia, gutters and downspouts. Motion #3 made by Ingle, 2nd by Edgington to approve the revolving loan application in the amount of $25,000 for roofing on house and garage, repair of dormers, soffits, fascia, gutters and downspouts, with the stipulation that it meets all other loan application requirements. Motion carried unanimously (6-0). 2. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00456) Environs, Old County Courthouse, Federal Building, Occidental Hotel APPLICANT: City of Wichita Building Facililties FOR: 455 N. Main Applicant proposes to build brick enclosure around building generators at the southeast corner of the building. Brick to match existing. Motion #4 made by Seiwert, 2nd by Ingle to find the proposed screening wall does not encroach, damage or destroy the environs of Old County Courthouse, Federal Building, and Occidental Hotel. Motion carried unanimously (6-0). 3. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00467) Nordurfth House, Revolving Loan Application APPLICANT: L’sanda Linzy FOR: 1844 Wellington Place Applicant requests loan of $25,000 for roof repair, window repair, soffit and eave repair as needed. Motion #5 made by Seiwert, 2nd by Churchman to approve the loan application with the stipulation that it meets all other loan application requirements. Motion carried unanimously (6-0). 4. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00474) Revolving Loan Application APPLICANT: Jane Eby FOR: 1204 N. Market Applicant requests $5,000 loan to repair roof and install new furnace. Motion #6 made by Ingle, 2nd by Pulkkila to approve the loan application with the stipulation that it meets all other loan application requirements. Motion carried unanimously (6-0). 5. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00477) Environs, Kress, Michigan, Lassen, Farmers and Bankers, Scottish Rite Consistory, Brown Building APPLICANT: Phil Ruffin FOR: 132 N. Broadway Applicant proposes to tear down 1957 cinder block building and replace with surface parking lot. Motion #7 made by Churchman, 2nd by Ingle to find the proposed demolition of existing building at 132 N Broadway does not encroach, damage or destroy the environs of the Kress, Michigan, Lessen, Farmers and Bankers H.D., Scottish Rite Consistory, Brown Building and the Orpheum. Applicant is to come back to the December 10, 2007 meeting with a site plan and elevation plan for the fence, etc for final approval by this board. Ms. Morgan will need a copy of plans by December 3, by noon. Motion carried unanimously (6-0). ITEM NO. 9 MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS 1. Report on brick streets ? Recommendations for bricks to be removed from existing streets and to be salvaged for use on remaining brick streets; ? And brick alleys in downtown area to be retained; ? In addition, the College Hill area to be retained, existing concrete and asphalt patches are to be replaced with brick. All utility work from this point forward are to be repaired with brick. Removal of brick for utility work is to be done with minimal breakage and replaced. ? Add on area behind Highland Park Cemetery on 9th Street, west of Hillside-to retain and patched to be replaced with brick as they work on the streets. ? Notify utility companies. Motion #8 made by Ingle, 2nd by Seiwert to adopt and finalize report, submit to Public Works and send copies to the utility companies, Aquila Gas, Kansas Gas Service, Westar Energy, AT & T and Cox Cable, and the City of Wichita Water and Sewer Department, Attn: David Warren, and anyone else who might need notification. Motion carried unanimously (6-0). 2. HPC2007-00493, item will appear on the next HPB Agenda request to demolish, 1202 N Main, and a religious structure. Looking for any additional information on this property, persons of interest associated with this congregation. Ms. Morgan will also notify Midtown Association for additional information. Need history about people who donated the land, etc. 3. Exchange Place Building Public Hearing Notice to take place Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 10:30 p.m. Director’s Conference Room, 10th Floor, City Hall, 455 N.
