Wichita Board of Appeals of Plumbers and Gas Fitters Minutes
Wednesday, September 10th, 2008


Present:   Terry Irwin, Keith Brewer, David Lefler, Andy Veatch and Don Vaughn

Absent:  Leon Breedlove, Jerry Short

Staff:   Sharon Dickgrafe, w/ Law Department, David Laws w/ Central Inspection, and Kim Mudd, w/ Central Inspection

Guests Present:    Dan Leidy, w/PACK; Darin Barnes, w/ Viega and Lonny Wright

Chairman, Terry Irwin called the meeting to order.

Andy Veatch, seconded by Don Vaughn, moved to accept the August minutes, motion carried 5 - 0.

Keith Brewer, seconded by David Lefler, moved to accept the revised July minutes with the corrections, motion carried 5 – 0.

Sharon Dickgrafe presented the Water Conditioning Ordinance and all corrections had been made and she would proceed with the next step.  After a final review, a few verbiage technicalities were found and Sharon would change those.  It was discussed to get a copy out to the Water Condition companies and post a notice in the CINCH before going to the City Council.  David Lefler, seconded by Don Vaughn moved to accept the Water Conditioning Ordinance with the few changes and proceed to Kurt Schroeder and the City Council, motion carried 5 – 0.

Sharon Dickgrafe updated the board that Kevin Lehane had appealed the board’s decision and appeared before the City Council on August 12th.  The City Council supported the board’s decision to revoke Mr. Lehane’s license and down grade his certificate to a Journeyman.

General discussion was held on the Viega ProPress Systems, no action taken.

General discussion was held on CEU’s, no action taken.

Keith Brewer left the meeting.

Don Vaughn, seconded by Andy Veatch, moved to have the CEU’s on the October agenda, motion carried 4 – 0.

David Lefler, seconded by Don Vaughn, moved to adjourn the meeting, motion carried 4 – 0.
