MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL

Wichita, Kansas, October 3, 2003
Friday, 1:15 P.M.


The City Council met in special session with Mayor Mayans in the Chair.  Council Members Brewer, Fearey, Gray, Lambke, Schlapp present.  Council Member Martz was absent.

Chris Cherches, City Manager and Gary Rebenstorf, Director of Law were present.


The Mayor announced that the purpose of the meeting was to go into executive session.


EXEC. SESSION	EXECUTIVE SESSION

Motion--	Mayans moved that the City Council recess into executive session to consider consultation with legal counsel on matters privileged in the attorney-client relationship relating to legal advice and personnel matters of non-elected personnel, and that the Council return from executive session no earlier than 
     --carried	1:46 P.M. and reconvene in the City Council chambers.  Motion carried 6 to 0.  (Martz absent)


At 1:46 P.M. the City Council returned from executive session and reconvened in the City Council chambers.


Mayor Mayans	Mayor Mayans announced that no action had been taken in executive session.


Motion--	Mayans moved that the City Council recess into executive session to consider consultation with legal counsel on matters privileged in the attorney-client relationship relating to legal advice and personnel matters of non-elected personnel, and that the Council return from executive session no earlier than
     --carried	2:10 P.M. and reconvene in the City Council chambers.  Motion passed 6 to 0 (Martz absent).


	At 2:10 P.M. the City Council returned from executive session and reconvened in the City Council chambers.

Mayor Mayans	Mayor Mayans announced that no action had been taken in executive session.


Motion--	Mayor Mayans moved that the executive session and the meeting be adjourned. The motion passed 
     --carried	6 to 0.  (Martz absent).


Adjournment	The City Council Special Meeting adjourned at 2:11 P.M.
