Unanimous – to approve and proceed with the TIP 1.Comprehensive Plan Update – Dave Barber ? Timeline o SCAC September 11th o November – MAPC o Completed by the end of 2004 2. McAdams Rezoning – Dave Barber ? Update the zoning from B Multi-family to less intense zoning that reflects the current uses ? Have hosted two neighborhood meetings concerning the rezoning ? DAB I voted unanimously in favor of the rezoning ? Along 9th, perhaps GC is the best zoning category ? Decided to move the presentation to the Planning Commission on the 19th (unanimous vote) 3. Midtown Rezoning – Nalini Johnson ? September 7th present 1st draft to the public ? Meeting every two weeks ? Elizabeth Bishop is the MAPC representative ? "Midtown people know everything" – MAPC member 4. 21st Street N. Revitalization Plan – Dave Barber ? Meeting every week with the Steering Committee ? Plan will incorporate two options for 21st Street lane configurations ? Closing 29th Street is proposed ? Staff should discuss this plan with the Visioning Wichita group ? Bob Hernendez is the MAPC member assigned to the study, and has not been attending meetings due to Army Reserve commitments ? Eastside improvements o Streetscape o Bus shelters o Heartspring – Boys and Girls Club 5. McConnell JLUS – Dave Barber ? Preferred consultant fee proposal of $90,000 ? Starting shortly ? New AICUZ to be released ? $90,000 Fed DOD grant funding ? $30,000 in match kind required by MAPD staff and GIS costs 6. Transportation Improvement Projects – Jamsheed Mehta ? 1st Technical Advisory Committee (Aprox 14 days) ? Full MPO policy party where communities accept or reject ? Full 45 day comment period ? Close 2 weeks in advance – so they can have material ahead of time and synthesized ? Notification of transportation projects to Council Members o How does it get to them? (no answer?) o Public Works director will push for projects o There could be ADA issues if they go forward with the parking plan for City Hall – MAPC member comment o There is a push to add two small cities to the MPO ?
