MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP/EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

			Wichita, Kansas, March 23, 2004
			Tuesday, 9:30 A.M.

	The City Council met in a workshop session with Mayor Mayans in the Chair.  Council Members Brewer, Fearey, Gray, Lambke, Martz, Schlapp; present.

	Cathy Holdeman, Interim City Manager and Gary Rebenstorf, Director of Law present.

	The workshop convened at 9:32 a.m. at Friends University, Casado Center.

Mayor Mayans	Mayor Mayans announced at 11:58 a.m., that the City Council was going into Executive Session.

Motion--	Mayans moved that the City Council recess into Executive Session to consider: Consultation with legal counsel on matters privileged in the Attorney-Client relationship relating to: Pending Litigation, Potential Litigation, Legal advice, Contract Negotiations, and Matters Relating to Employer-Employee negotiations and that the Council return from Executive Session no earlier than 12:55 p.m. and
     --carried	reconvene in the Friends University Casado Center.  Motion carried 7 to 0.

Mayor Mayans	Mayor Mayans announced that the Executive Session would be extended.

Motion--		Mayans moved at 12:57 p.m., that the City Council recess into Executive Session to consider: Consultation with legal counsel on matters privileged in the Attorney-Client relationship relating to: Pending Litigation, Potential Litigation, Legal advice, Contract Negotiations, and Matters relating to Employer-Employee negotiations and that the Council return from Executive Session no earlier than 
     --carried	1:20 p.m. and reconvene in the Friends University Casado Center.  Motion carried 7 to 0.	

RECONVENE	The City Council reconvened in the Friends University Casado Center at 1:28 p.m. and Mayor Mayans announced that no action was necessary as a result of the executive session.

Motion--	Mayans moved to adjourn the Executive Session and return to the workshop agenda.  Motion 
     --carried	carried 7 to 0.
