Hillside Bridge Reconstruction over Gypsum Creek Date: January 4, 2008 Contact: Gail Williams, Asst. to Director of Public Works : GWilliams@wichita.gov : (316) 268-4497   The Hillside bridge over Gypsum Creek - south of Pawnee and immediately east of Joyland amusement park - will be demolished and replaced by a new four-lane bridge. The bridge will be closed on Monday, Jan. 7. Traffic will be detoured to Pawnee, George Washington Boulevard, Oliver, and 31st Street South. The bridge is projected to be open on Aug. 1, 2008, weather permitting. Dondlinger & Sons Construction Co., Inc. will be the contractor for the project. Back to Top
