The application process for Section 8 housing vouchers closes for the general public on March 31. The application process will remain open for special cases designated by policies approved by Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
“Applications will continue to be accepted from people who meet local preferences and have a referral from approved community-based organizations,” said Mary K. Vaughn, Director of Housing and Community Services.
Applications will be available until March 31 at the Section 8 Office web site; Housing and Community Services Department, Section 8 Office at 332 N. Riverview, 67203; and City of Wichita Neighborhood City Halls:
- Atwater, 2755 E. 19th St;
- Colvin, 2820 S. Roosevelt;
- Stanley/Aley, 1749 S. Martinson; and
- Evergreen, 2700 N. Woodland.
Paper applications can be mailed to the Housing and Community Services Department with a postmark no later than March 31 or hand delivered to the Housing and Community Services Department by 5 p.m. on March 31. Web site applications will be available through March 31 and electronic submissions accepted until midnight. People requiring special accommodations to complete the application should contact the Housing and Community Services Department at 462-3700.
