Effective October 1, 2009
The Wichita City Council approved a new rate structure for municipal golf courses on September 1, 2009. This new rate plan and policy change is designed to enhance customer service and will be effective October 1, 2009.
“We are thankful for the Golf Advisory Committee’s diligent and thoughtful work in developing the recommendations for these changes,” Wichita Golf Course Manager Don Harrison said. ”The revenue generated from this fee increase will allow Wichita golfers continued enjoyment on the City of Wichita’s fine golf courses.”
The Golf Enterprise Fund is entirely supported by user fees from the golfing community. These fees include green fees, cart rentals, driving range and concession sales. The City has been providing municipal golf facilities to residents since Arthur B. Sim Golf Course was opened ninety years ago in 1919. The number of City owned golf course grew to five in 2001 when Auburn Hills opened on the far west side of Wichita. More information on the City’s golf courses can be found at www.wichita.gov on the Park and Recreation page.
