- Left turns from Central end Nov. 2
- Left turns from West Street end mid-November
- Other West Street work completed
Starting Monday, Nov. 2, left turns will not be allowed from Central onto West Street for about five months. Water line construction across the intersection require the restriction.
West Street traffic may still make left turns onto Central until mid-November, when major pavement work will begin. At that time, no left turns at Central and West Street will be allowed, also until next spring.
Pavement work at Maple and West Street has been completed. Left turns from Maple are now open, but left turns from West Street onto Maple are not possible yet because additional pavement work needs to be completed north of Maple.
West Street is being reconstructed between Maple and Central, to include a center left turn lane, new drainage system, new water lines and new traffic signals. The long-awaited, $7.7 million project got underway in May 2009, following a year of utility relocation work. The project is expected to be completed in mid-2010. Traffic on West Street is limited to one lane in each direction between Maple and Central.
