The City of Wichita has hired a consultant to prepare a comprehensive master drainage plan. This plan will consider the future growth potential in the Cowskin Creek Basin and the impact it will have on flooding. As part of the compilation of information, the consultant, Black & Veatch, is required to solicit public input for the plan.
Black & Veatch will host the first of three public meetings at 7:00 PM on April 17, 2000, at the Sedgwick County Extension Center, 21st and Ridge Road.
The purpose of the meetings is to gain input form the various stakeholders concerning the flood risk and the current development practices. All citizens are welcome to attend. Those living in the basin are encouraged to participate in this process.
