The City of Wichita has been under a Burn Ban since January 16, 2002. With the precipitation brought on by the recent snow and ice event, the Fire Marshal is lifting the Ban. The Wichita Fire Department would like to emphasize to the public the need to be aware of ignition sources that can start fires. These include, but are no limited to, carelessly discarded cigarettes, cooking grills or discarded fireplace ashes. Please be careful! For additional information or comments, please contact Fire Marshal Edward F. Bricknell at 268-4466.
