In February, the City of Wichita's Housing Services will hold information sessions on home improvement loan programs for owner-occupants and investment property owners. Income eligibility and geographic restrictions are a few of the criteria to be discussed at the sessions. Depending on your eligibility, loans at 4% interest or less are available to make needed repairs on residential structures. Pre-registration is required for each session. The first informational session will be for people who own the home that they occupy and need to make repairs to it. This session will be held at 6 PM, Wednesday, Feb. 13. The session on loans for investment property owners will be held at 6 PM, Wednesday, Feb. 20. Both sessions will be at Colvin Neighborhood Center at 2820 South Roosevelt. The eligibility area for owner-occupant dwellings is: I-235 on the west, Pawnee on the south, and Hillside on the east, 25th Street on the north and the remaining area of the North East Local Investment Area and the Planeview and Hilltop Local Investment Area. For investment property owners, the rental property must be located within one of the five Local Investment Areas of the City of Wichita as listed below: Orchard BreezeHoover Rd on the west, Maple on the south, West Street on the east, and Central on the north. PlaneviewHillside on the west, Pawnee on the north, 31st Street on the south and George Washington Boulevard on the east. HilltopLincoln on the north, Bluffview on the west, Harry on the south and Oliver on the east.
