The Wichita City Council, local lenders and Community Housing Services will formally kick off a new collaborative local mortgage program during this special session.
The Heart of Wichita Lender Pool will be capitalized at $1 million by local lenders, loans originated by Community Housing Services, and down payment assistance provided by the City. First-time homebuyers that were previously denied loans may now be applicants for this program if they purchase in the targeted areas in Wichita.
During the special session, comments will be made by Mayor Bob Knight, J.V. Lentell, Vice Chairman of the Board, Intrust Bank, and June Bailey, Executive Director, Community Housing Services. At noon, the City Council will attend a luncheon with representatives from participating banks. The luncheon will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Room 203.
