The Wichita Fire Department is hosting a benefit drive from July 22-31 to collect personal hygiene items and new school supplies for the women and children served at Catholic Charities Harbor House, a local domestic violence shelter. All fire stations will be drop off sites for the donated items. Those wishing to donate can place their items in specially-marked boxes at fire stations throughout the city. Firefighters and the Wichita Wagonmasters, a local support group, will then deliver the donations to Catholic Charities Harbor House in early August. Hygiene products especially needed are soaps and lotions, African-American hair care products, deodorant, hairbrushes, shampoo and conditioner.
