The City will be installing four-way stop signs at the intersection of 21st North and 119th West on Friday, Aug. 16, to improve safety at this intersection. This change involves adding stop signs on 21st Street to stop east and west bound traffic, as well as the north-south traffic on 119th Street that currently stops at 21st. Construction has confined the east-west traffic to one lane in each direction, restricting opportunities for north-south traffic to cross 21st. The four-way stop will assure that every motorist has an opportunity to cross safely. The four-way stop signs will be installed on Friday afternoon. Electronic message boards announcing the change will be in place this week to advise drivers. The four-way stop signs will remain in place until a new traffic signal is installed next year, due to the new intersection design and increased traffic volumes.
