The Wichita Police Department is hosting its 8th Annual Show N’ Shine Car Show on Sunday September 22, 2002, from noon until 4 p.m. at Wichita State University located at 21st and Hillside. There will be many interesting events at this year’s show that include several Specialty Vehicles from various law enforcement agencies and the military. There will be free child identification through the Wichita Police Department Child Identification System. The show is free to the public and anyone who would like to enter a vehicle may do so for a $10 registration fee. There will be a number of trophies awarded to winning vehicles, and prizes will be given away throughout the show. All proceeds earned from the show will be donated to the Kansas Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation provides wishes to terminally ill children ages 2 ½ to 18. This event will be sponsored by Mainstream Technologies Group; RynoTek Media Services, Inc.; Davis Moore; Bosley Tire; and the Museum of World Treasures. If you would like to enter a vehicle in the car show, please contact Sgt. Ken Kimble at 941-0673. Registrations will be taken the day of the show. We hope to see everyone at the show.
