Due to the extremely dry conditions, increased winds and lack of rainfall, the Wichita Fire Department is immediately placing in effect a TOTAL BURN BAN within the City of Wichita. The burn ban applies to all burning operations and will include all currently issued burn permits. The Wichita Fire Department wishes to emphasize the need for all members of the public to be aware of ignition sources that could present a fire danger such as discarded cigarettes, careless use of open flame devises, or unattended BBQ grills. For additional information, please contact Fire Marshal Ed Bricknell at 268-4466. Remember, Fire Prevention is everyone’s business. Please make it yours.
