Wichita has been under a BURN BAN since August 22, 2003. Due to the recent rains, and lower temperatures, the Fire Marshal is lifting the BAN. The Wichita Fire Department wishes to emphasize to the public the need to be aware of ignition sources that could present a fire danger such as careless use of open flame devices, discarded smoking materials and unattended BBQ grills. Please be careful!! For additional information please contact Fire Marshal Ed Bricknell at 268-4466. Remember, Fire Prevention is everyone's business. Please make it yours.
