As part of Mayor Bob Knight's Economic Response Initiative, Newman University is again hosting an event to help laid-off workers. "Tools for Taking Charge...Life after Layoff," will be held January 25 at Newman University.

The event will include financial and career counselors, small business advisers, experts on writing resumes, representatives from the Wichita Workforce Alliance, counselors from the Empac Company, representatives from area colleges and universities and potential employers.

The "Tools for Taking Charge...Life after Layoff" event will be held Saturday, January 25 from 10am-2pm at De Mattias Hall, Newman University.

Newman University hosted a similar workshop last year which was attended by 500 people.
