The City of Wichita has appointed a new Director of Environmental Health. Kay Johnson assumed her duties on March 29. Jack Brown, the former Director, retired after 30 years of service.
Kay began employment with the City of Wichita in April 2002 as the Environmental Compliance Manager. Prior to her employment with the City of Wichita, Kay was the Superintendent of Environment and Health for Vulcan Chemicals Co. Kay has held other positions of responsibility including Director of Business Development for Integrated Solutions, Inc.; the Director of Health, Safety and Environment for Learjet, Inc.; Site Manager for Chemical Waste Management of Kansas and she has experience working with Wolf Creek Nuclear Ops Corp and KGE. Kay's extensive background in environmental management will be a strong asset to the City of Wichita family of professionals.
