New Saturday Service, effective November 20, 2004:

• Departs Wichita: 1:20 PM, Arrives in Orlando: 5:00 PM
• Departs Orlando: 5:40 PM, Arrives in Wichita: 7:50 PM

"We are pleased that AirTran has found the strength in the market in Wichita," said Mayor Carlos Mayans. "This broadened service will help travelers from Wichita, the State of Kansas and beyond, travel to another top destination point through Mid-Continent Airport," he said. This amendment to AirTran’s destinations will be on the City Council agenda for official approval of this additional service on Tuesday, August 10.

"This new Orlando flight will replace one of the three Saturday Atlanta flights," said Bailis Bell, Airport Director. "This is a fantastic addition to our current service and as more people continue to fly AirTran Airways, we look forward to expanded service to Orlando and other destinations," he said.

On Wednesday, AirTran Airways announced that the airline will be adding new daily nonstop flights this fall between several of the cities it serves and popular vacation destinations. Wichita was among those cities that received additional new non-stop service. "We are pleased to offer these additional frequencies for our customers," said Kevin Healy, AirTran Airways' vice president of planning and sales. "This increase in service gives consumers more flexibility and convenience when planning travel, as well as more options for affordable fares on popular routes."
