The Board of Trustees of the Mid-America All-Indian Center passed a resolution on December 27 closing the Indian Center in light of its current financial situation, effective December 31. The Indian Center will be closed for a period of approximately 60 days. During this time, the Board of Trustees will restructure the organization with the assistance of the City of Wichita. In addition, employees of the Indian Center will be laid-off during the closure. Employees were notified of this decision in writing earlier today. Please be advised that during the closure, the Youth Indian Pow Wow will still take place. Rentals that have been previously scheduled will be honored.
