Beginning on Saturday, April 30, Harry Street will be closed to traffic at Grove for installation of a sanitary sewer line. The street closure is required at Harry Street and Grove as part of the process to complete the construction of a double, 30-inch sanitary sewer line. The size and depth of the line requires an excavation of 15 feet wide and 9 feet deep across Harry Street, which cannot be done safely if traffic were to be open during the installation. The new sewer line replaces an old 42-inch sewer main which has caused flow restrictions for several years.
The closure will begin at approximately 6 AM on Saturday, April 30. The street will reopen no later than 6 AM on Monday, May 2. Traffic will be detoured using I-135, Lincoln and George Washington Boulevard.
