The City of Wichita has appointed Elizabeth Owens as the new Superintendent of Water Distribution, one of five divisions within the Water & Sewer Department. The position is responsible for the maintenance of the network of pipes that distributes treated water throughout the service area.
Owens is a 16-year veteran of the Water & Sewer Department and has served in several management positions. She is a graduate of Wichita State University, where she earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a major in History and minor in Mathematics. Her selection comes after a six-month search to replace Russell Rose, who retired in June.
