“City Improvements” is a quarterly series that highlights various projects that are implemented to improve Wichita’s quality of life. This edition takes a look at the before, during and after process of road construction. It also reviews the planning procedure for large-scale projects, known as Capital Improvements Projects (CIP). The 20-minute video takes a “behind the scenes” look at road construction about to happen (Meridian and MacArther), projects already under construction (Central and Hillside) and a completed project (21st Street and Woodlawn). Interviews were conducted with Council members Sue Schlapp and Paul Gray, Public Works Director Chris Carrier, City Engineer Jim Armour and Public Works employees Mike Jacobs and Greg Baalman.

The newest edition of “City Improvements” debuts this evening at 5, 7 and 9 PM. It can be seen daily at 7:30 and 11:30 AM and at 5 and 9 PM.

The second new program comes from KTQW-Channel 49. It features a recent “Lunchtime Lecture” at Botanica. The featured speaker on the program is Janet Miller, President of the Board of Park Commissioners. In the presentation, Miller talks about the future of the Wichita Park system. This lecture is covered in its entirety, which is 29 minutes. The program debuts tonight at 8:30 and 10 PM.  It can be seen daily at 9 AM, 1:30, 4:30 PM.
