The Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT) Web site, www.flywichita.com, has a new flight-tracking feature. Viewers can see the location of a flight on a United States map as well as check departure and arrival times. The service is provided by FlightView, which receives the information directly from Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) air-traffic control computer system. The information is customized for ICT, so that only flights departing and arriving at ICT are displayed.
FlightView will only show flights that are in the air, and flight times are shown in military times. The display also shows an overlay of significant weather on the map.
“This new feature will be a tremendous asset to travelers and those waiting for passengers to arrive. The information is very accurate and easily accessible,” said Victor White, Director of Airports.
