Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer was honored Monday morning with the annual Leadership in Diversity Award, presented by the League of Kansas Municipalities at its annual conference in Overland Park.
The award was presented in recognition of the Mayor’s professional achievements and his life as a positive example of accomplishment and dignity.
Mayor Brewer also presented the keynote address at the Diversity Breakfast. He acknowledged Wichita’s ongoing efforts to encourage minority business development and urged municipalities across the state to do the same.
The LKM conference continues until adjournment following Tuesday’s general session of voting delegates.
Also in attendance at the conference are Wichita Council Members Sue Schlapp, Jim Skelton and Lavonta Williams.
