Space Added for Limousines and Charter Buses City of Wichita officials have added two more drop-off and pick-up locations in Old Town and expanded the space in other locations to accommodate limousines and charter buses. In effect 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily, five zones exist in Old Town. One new zone is located on the north side of Douglas, west of Larkspur, east of Emerson Biggins; the second, on the south side of the Cinema Plaza on Second Street. The remaining three locations are: On the south side of First Street, east of Mosley On the north side of Second Street, east of Mosley And on the north side of Douglas, west of Mead. The Second and Mosley location has been extended to accommodate limousines and charter buses. The zones are solely for pick-up and drop-off. Vehicles that are not taxis, charter buses or limousines can be fined at least $100 for parking in the zones during designated times. Fine amounts - posted on the signage - are strictly enforced. After a review from Old Town stakeholders, the Wichita City Council designated the zones in 2005 in an effort to reduce traffic congestion and increase pedestrian safety. Back to Top
