In observance of Memorial Day, all City of Wichita facilities will be closed Monday, May 28. This includes all City facilities such as City Hall, Neighborhood City Halls, Environmental Health and Recreation Centers. Transit Services will not be operating on Monday. All Wichita Public Libraries will be closed Sunday, May 27 and Monday, May 28. All Municipal Golf Courses will be open for your golfing pleasure. The City of Wichita Animal Shelter will be open holiday hours of 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The City of Wichita Public Works Department is currently working to post American flags on the light poles downtown on the streets of Douglas, Main and McLean Boulevard from Lawrence-Dumont Stadium to Exploration Place. The American flags will fly throughout the summer until after the Labor Day holiday.
