In observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday, City of Wichita facilities will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. This includes Neighborhood City Halls, Park and Recreation Centers, Cowtown, City Arts, Mid America All Indian Center, Wichita Art Museum, Botanica and Wichita Public Library branches. Neighborhood City Halls will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Transit services will be closed Thursday, but will be running their Saturday schedule on Friday. Transit will offer free rides all day Saturday on fixed routes. The information booth will be staffed for information only between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No financial transactions will take place, including making change, and no bus passes will be sold. Municipal golf courses will be closed Thursday but will be open on Friday. The Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday and will open Friday with holiday hours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Back to Top
