The Lynette Woodard Recreation Center will be closed at least through the end of the month, because of malfunctioning heating units. The City of Wichita Park and Recreation Department will provide area youth with free bus transportation to nearby McAdams Recreation Center.

“We want to maintain providing recreational services for youth in the surrounding neighborhoods,” Larry Foos, Superintendent of Park and Recreation, said.

Buses will begin transporting youth from Atwater Neighborhood City Hall (NCH) beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22. The last bus will bring participants back to Atwater at 5 p.m. The bus will shuttle back and forth every 30 minutes.

Signed parent permission slips will be available at Atwater NCH and required to travel on the bus.
