Beginning on Thursday, the City of Wichita will offer a series of free mini-seminars that outline basic steps required to start and sustain a small business. Classes will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the following locations: November 12Boston Recreation Center6655 E Zimmerly688-9301 November 16Woodard Recreation Center2750 E 18th303-8015 November 17McAdams Recreation Center1329 E 16th337-9222 November 18Evergreen Recreation Center2700 N Woodland303-8023 November 23Colvin Recreation Center2820 S Roosevelt303-8023 Classes will provide a brief overview on the development of a business plan, basic accounting system to run the business, loan programs and marketing information. The City’s Park and Recreation Department, which is proving locations for the seminars, is partnering with Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), a nonprofit, public service organization supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. SCORE is dedicated to helping small businesses succeed. SCORE helps people take steps from a fledgling idea to a fully functioning small business. Back to Top
