Dolls donated for children in crisis The Loyal Order of the Moose #138 presented the Wichita Fire Department (WFD) with 24 Tommy Moose dolls today at Fire Station #20, 2255 S. Greenwich Road. Wichita Fire Chief Ronald D. Blackwell accepted the donation from Loyal Order of the Moose #138 Administrator Roy Bromley. Eventually, every WFD truck will carry the Tommy Moose dolls. Firefighters will distribute the dolls to children who suddenly face overwhelming circumstances whether it is an automobile accident, house fire, weather disaster or other calamity. This the first time the WFD has received Tommy Moose dolls from the Loyal Order of the Moose #138. “We are very appreciative of Moose Lodge #138’s generosity,” Wichita Fire Chief Ronald D. Blackwell said. “We are grateful that we have another way to comfort children during times of need.” Since 2002, The Loyal Order of the Moose has supplied more than 75,000 Tommy Moose dolls, free of charge, to police departments, fire departments and paramedic/ambulance units all over North America. The local chapter is more than 200 members strong and is complimented by a Woman of the Moose chapter with 145 members. The Loyal Order of the Moose #138 does other charitable work for The Food Bank Warehouse and Toys for Tots. Back to Top
