Event goers can win an IPOD or a bike Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer and Wichita City Council members will host the annual “A Night with Santa” Holiday event from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 3rd at Century II. The evening begins outdoors on Kennedy Plaza with the lighting of the holiday tree, a reading of a “Night before Christmas” by Mayor Brewer and a Mayor’s Youth Council member, the arrival of Santa Claus on a fire truck and a fireworks show sponsored by the Wichita Downtown Development Corp. and the Wichita Federal Credit Union. The indoor event, in the exhibition hall of Century II, will have an array of games and inflatables, letters to Santa, pictures with Santa, prize giveaways, and larger giveaways including 14 decorated Christmas trees, an IPod and a new child’s bike. The event is free but donations will be accepted of canned food, hats, gloves and scarves. Cash donations for the Mayor’s and Kansas Food Bank’s No More Hungry Kids Campaign are preferred.
