In observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday, City of Wichita facilities will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. This includes Neighborhood City Halls, Park and Recreation Centers, Cowtown, CityArts, Mid America All Indian Center, Wichita Art Museum and Wichita Public Library branches. On Wednesday, Nov. 25, Neighborhood City Halls will close at 5 p.m. and Library locations will close at 5:30 p.m. Transit services will be closed Thursday and open Friday but will run the Saturday schedule. The Transit Center information desk will be open on Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Municipal golf courses will be closed Thursday but will be open on Friday. Botanica will be closed Thursday but will open from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday for Illuminations. The Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday and open Friday with holiday hours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Wichita Ice Center will be open Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and have normal hours on Friday.
