City of Wichita officials have identified parking spaces to accommodate thousands of people who are expected to visit the Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center this Thursday for the “A Night with Santa” event, the stage production of “Avenue Q: The Musical” and the Kansas Livestock Association annual meeting. Those plans include:

• 344 metered parking spaces in the main Century II parking lot east of Expo Hall.

• 200 parking spaces in the surface parking lot located south of Waterman Street (across from the Hyatt’s parking garage).

• 500 parking spots in the garage east of the Broadview Hotel on Waco.

• 560 parking spots after 5 p.m. in the Garvey Center garage. To enter the garage, drivers may go down First Street and turn south on Willis Drive. Willis Drive is located a half-block east of Waco.

• 500 parking spots in the Waterwalk parking garage between Wichita Street and Water (just east of Gander Mountain).

• 350 parking spots in the parking garage to the east of the Waterwalk near the Go Wichita Convention and Visitors Bureau.

• 827 parking spots in Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

• Visitors may also pay to park in the Hyatt Regency Wichita parking garage (500 spaces) that is adjacent to the main Century II surface parking lot. Individuals who park in the garage will be charged $8 by the Hyatt.

The largest crowds are expected downtown after 5 p.m. The Kansas Livestock Association will be meeting at Century II from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; “A Night with Santa” begins at 6 p.m.; and the “Avenue Q” performance presented by the Theater League starts at 7:30 p.m. in Concert Hall.

There will be multiple street closures that evening in conjunction with the “A Night with Santa” event. Drivers are encouraged to arrive early for their events to allow extra time to find parking. Following are street closures that take effect at 5:15 p.m.:

• Douglas Avenue, Main Street to McLean Blvd.

• McLean Blvd., Douglas to 1st/2nd Street

• Waco, Douglas to 1st Street (Access from 1st Street to the Broadview Hotel)

• 1st St., Waco to McLean Blvd.

• Sycamore, approximately 300 feet north of Douglas to McLean Blvd.

• Century II Drive, from W. Tlalnepantla Dr. to Douglas

• S. Cancun St., Century II Drive to W. Tlalnepantla Drive

• N. Civic Center Pl., north side of Douglas

• Wichita, north side of Douglas

• Water, north side of Douglas
