Residents can provide recommendations for general funding categories Public input through upcoming scheduled meetings is sought to develop the 2010 spending plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funds. The funds, which come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, require the formation of a plan consistent with community input. Housing and Community Services Department officials predict that, in 2010, Wichita will receive $2,848,360 from CDBG, $1,833,537 from HOME and $125,266 from ESG. Several meetings have been scheduled to present an overview of federal spending and to receive input from citizens regarding the 2010-2011 spending priorities for these funds.
