The City of Wichita has contracted with Cornejo & Sons, Inc. to make pavement repairs on Washington, between First Street and Central. A public information meeting for the project is scheduled for 5:30 pm. on Dec. 29 in the gym of Hyde Park Shelter, 201 S. Greenwood. The $485,200 project is slated to begin Jan. 5 with a projected completion date of April 30. Access to businesses, and one lane of traffic in each direction on Washington, will be maintained during construction. The project is one of three street repair projects being partially funded by American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) funds. Hillside pavement repairs between 9th and 12th are being made now; Broadway between Central and 12th will get underway in February or March 2010. Back to Top
