A delegation of 11 local officials from the city of Wuxi in Jiangsu Province of China will be in Wichita May 6 for a daylong schedule of activities. The visit is an important step in the EcoPartnership that was formed between Wuxi and Wichita on Dec. 4, 2008, during a formal ceremony in Beijing, China. The City of Wichita is one of only seven entities in the United States selected by the national governments of the United States and China to participate in EcoPartnerships. Media access to the events of May 6 must be coordinated through the City of Wichita Communications Team. The schedule includes visits to local industries and an informational presentation at the City of Wichita Water Center, 101 E. Pawnee. The schedule includes the exchange of resolutions and the formal signing of a Letter of Intent at 5 p.m. in the First Floor Board Room of City Hall, 455 N. Main. The Wichita City Council will host a 7 p.m. dinner for the Wuxi delegation at the Wichita Art Museum. The event is being coordinated by the Kansas World Trade Center and its president, Karyn Page, who traveled to Beijing in December to represent the City of Wichita at the initial ceremony.
