The Advanced Plans Committee of the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission will meet at 3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1. The committee will review the Delano Neighborhood Overlay District, Design Guidelines and Rezoning Proposal. The meeting will take place in the Planning Department Conference Room, 10th Floor, City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
Over a year in the making, the proposed rezoning scheme and design guidelines have been prepared by the Delano Neighborhood Steering Committee with the assistance of the MAPD staff to implement key elements of the Delano Neighborhood Revitalization Plan adopted by the Wichita City Council and the Sedgwick County Board of Commissioners in April 2001.
The Overlay District and Design Guidelines have been drafted to ensure that future development in the Delano neighborhood occurs in a manner consistent and compatible with the architectural character and history of the neighborhood.
