Wichita Police Officers will be at the Wal-Mart located at 501 E. Pawnee from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday Oct. 19, Friday Oct. 25 and Saturday Oct. 26 with the Department’s new Child Identification Program.
The Child Identification Program lets parents put their child’s vital information, including a photograph, dimensions, and fingerprints on a computer disk. Parents fill out a questionnaire of basic information including height, weight, eye and hair color, blood type and any identifying scars and marks.
The computer disk is turned over to parents – police do not keep a copy. The disk can be updated at any time.
The service is free of charge and the program was paid for by Forest Lattner Foundation, Davis Moore, Wichita Community Neighborhood Fund, South East Wichita Business Association, Game Exchange, Fastsigns, DNA Diagnostics Center and Mainstream Technology Group.
For more information, please contact Officer Virgil Miller, Patrol South Community Police, at 337-9000 or 337-9200.
