Public Works & Utilities crews are currently clearing tree limbs and debris that fell into streets and onto public property during the Thursday night wind storm.
City crews will not pick up debris from private property owners. Private property owners should work with their trash haulers to remove debris or dispose their debris at four Wichita locations for a fee. Private property owner debris should only be placed at the curb after arrangements have been made with a private hauler to pick it up. City crews will not pick up debris placed at the curb.
The damaging winds downed trees and damaged other property across the city, with most damage occurring in central and west Wichita. Since the storm subsided last night, City crews have been clearing debris that fell into the streets. Arterial streets will be cleared before residential streets. Crews are also trimming dangerous limbs hanging from trees on public property or rights-of-way.
A list of solid waste haulers is provided on www.wichita.gov
