The City of Wichita is accepting applications for District I and District V representatives on the Wichita Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board. The positions are open until individuals are appointed by the Council Member. New appointees will serve out the remainder of the respective Council member’s term, and may be re-appointed. The volunteer board advises the City on issues related to bicycling and walking in Wichita. It provides advice directly to the City Council; participates in planning and project development; evaluates policies; and makes recommendations to City departments. The board plays an important role in implementing Wichita's Bicycle Master Plan and the development of the Pedestrian Master Plan.
Individuals interested in volunteering to be a member of the Wichita Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board should submit a completed Boards and Commissions Application Form, available online at www.wichita.gov

The board includes membership opportunities for a diverse mix of Wichita residents interested in making Wichita a better place for bicycling and walking. This includes, but is not limited to, cyclists of all skill levels, casual weekend riders to year-round commuters; individuals who walk for recreation and those who walk for transportation; and people of all ages. The board meets on the second Monday of each month at the Wichita Transit Maintenance Facility (777 E. Waterman Street) for a period of approximately two hours. Board applicants should be aware that additional hours outside of board meetings are necessary in order to learn more about agenda items and to track projects.
