Free activities for children ages 5 to 12
The annual O.K. Kids Day event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Watson Park, 3022 S. McLean Boulevard. Youth ages 5 to 12 years old can receive free instruction regarding fishing and water safety as well as participate in miniature golf, moon walk, kayaks, archery, disc golf, and train rides during O.K. Kids Day.
Fishing poles and bait will be provided to use for the fishing clinics, so those interested should arrive early to register. Home Depot volunteers will be available to help youth assemble kits. A limited number of free T-shirts and hot dogs are also available.
Children can participate in a prize drawing at 11:45 a.m. and, starting at noon, Watson Park will have train rides, pony rides, miniature golf, pedal boats and concessions for small fees.
O.K. Kids Day is operated by the Kansas Wildscape Foundation.
