Flash Flooding Impacting Wichita Streets

The City of Wichita is advising drivers to avoid several areas of town due to flash flooding. A Flash Flood Warning for Sedgwick County is in effect until 9:30 p.m.

Maple Street from West Street to I-235 has been closed. Drivers are encouraged to use other arterials including Kellogg and Central.

Other areas to avoid include:

  • Pawnee and Meridian
  • West Street from 13th to Kellogg
  • Bleckley Street from Douglas to Kellogg
  • Harry Street from McLean to Seneca

Wichita Police remind motorists not to drive into the flood waters. Turn around, don’t drown.
