This park is located along the north bank of the Arkansas River.
Check out the eco-friendly parking lot, which uses a permeable paving system enabling storm water to soak in and not drain into the storm sewer system. It is an attractive solution to preventing stormwater pollution.
On June 13, 2017, City Council passed a motion to authorize the naming of Meridian Dog Park, stating that the park is to be renamed "K-9 Rooster Dog Park" to commemorate fallen Officer Canine Rooster, who was shot and killed March 19th, after five years of duty with the Wichita Police Department.
