MAPD Application Filing Fee Increase in 2024

January 1, 2024, application fees for Wichita-Sedgwick County Metropolitan Area Planning Department cases will increase by approximately 10%. Download the application fee schedule.

This price increase will not affect any cases that are currently in progress or for cases that are submitted prior to January 1, 2024. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Planning Department staff at planning@wichita.gov or 316.268.4421.


​​​The Wichita-Sedgwick County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission is implementing procedures to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Case applications to be considered by the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals or Subdivision Committee can be submitted through the mail or online. They will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Electronic signatures will be accepted. The format of the Planning Commission meetings and opportunities to participate are described on the meeting agenda.

Development Review meetings are being scheduled and are generally held virtually using Microsoft Teams or similar systems. If you would like to schedule a Development Review session, then please call or email the Planning Department to arrange a time.

Please note that applications cannot be processed without payment in full. Payment can be made with a check (by mail), or credit card (in persion or over the phone).

Pickup of Development Application signs can occur in the office or be arranged by appointment if the Reagan Building is closed to the public.
